So my plan was to show up early and shoot a ton of photos throughout the night. Being the well-prepared human that I am, I showed up with a shit camera and two dead batteries. On top of that, I completely forgot that I had my batteries charging the first half of the show. Needless to say, I wound up just scrambling to taking a few really bad photographs. My unpreparedness aside, this show was a banger. Super cool seeing so many friends bands sell out AMH. Proud of everyone and a few of these guys have some real bright futures ahead of em. Check the few shots I pulled below.
Shorebreak is a pop punk band from my home town of East Islip, New York. I've known most of the guys for close to eight years and have had a front row seat to the evolution of their sound. Last month we saw the band release the first single off of their new EP, Misdirection. I think it's safe to say that I'm not the only one who was caught off guard with this track. Shorebreak comes right out of the gate with a killer catchy pop punk track in the vein of State Champs, Stickup Kid, and The Story So Far. A pretty sizable change in sound from their last EP, Displacement, which drew comparisons to early 2000s pop punk, as well as, current bands like Such Gold.
I was lucky enough to get an early listen of Misdirection and I can promise you it will not disappoint. While we wait for Friday's official release, we have another single off the EP titled Fall for you to check out. Check out the video below and click the link below for a free download. Be sure to let us know what you think and be sure to pick up Misdirection for free this Friday, December 18th via their Bandcamp. The release show for Misdirection will be on February 5th at Amityville Music Hall and more info can be found here.
